When the Star Wars race was officially announced, there were a couple of events announced with it. One of those was the Wookie Welcome Party. We had no idea what the welcome party would be. But, we took a chance and decided to go ahead and buy tickets.
We’re pretty tired still from flying to Anaheim this morning. We took naps and tried to relax some, but we’re still dragging. Hopefully, this party will be worth the $100 each we paid.
We have to wait outside Disneyland when we arrive. The line is already long and we’re about 30 minutes early. Once they start letting us in, the line moves very quickly.
We enter the park and everyone starts heading towards Tomorrowland where Star Tours, Space Mountain, etc. are. There are photo stations setup where there will be character pictures. There are also long tables setup with some desserts on them.
Star Tours, Space Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear are all open to riders. We went on Star Tours immediately. When we came out, the lines were really long for character pictures. We looked at the characters and decided we’d go ride Space Mountain. We rode that once and then stood in line to get some desserts. There were miniature chocolate cupcakes and Wookie cookie balls (like truffles almost). They were both delicious; so delicious that we went back for seconds.
I wanted to ride Buzz Lightyear; I love rides where you get to shoot at things. I’m not great at them, but I love them nonetheless. Since the ride had almost zero people on it, we kept riding over and over without getting off. I think we went around about eight times before Cheertator had enough.
We rode Space Mountain one last time and then decided to call it a night. We have to be up early and it’s already really late. Being tired from traveling isn’t helping either. We both need to sleep.
It takes us about 15 minutes to walk back to our hotel. We’re both ready to shower and hit the pillow by the time we get back. I don’t think either one of us will be awake long. Thank goodness we don’t have a long race tomorrow. We can take it easy and just enjoy the 5k.
Until tomorrow…gotta run.
